  • Summit for Developing Leaders

    This exclusive one-week program will provide you the unique opportunity to get a sneak peek at what happens every day at Capital One.

    What to Expect

    Here, you’ll join other exceptional freshmen and sophomores in developing the collaborative, analytical, and problem-solving skills valued by today’s top employers. Discover the power of tech as you’re immersed in our startup-minded, innovative culture. Test drive what we do on a daily basis as you work side by side with actual analysts, using teamwork to define real customer problems and deliver functional solutions. And throughout the week, experience firsthand how we’re changing banking for good.

    Capital One will be responsible for all participant travel and accommodations—your job is to come, learn, and challenge yourself in this exciting corporate setting!

    Learn and Grow

    If selected for this prestigious program, you will:

    • Work and learn in a collaborative environment
    • Explore a challenging case study with your team and present your findings to Capital One executives
    • Develop lasting relationships with Capital One associates and peers
    • See firsthand how recent college grads launched successful careers at Capital One

    Preferred Qualifications

    Current undergraduate freshman or sophomore
    3.25 GPA or higher
    Quantitative major
    Demonstrated leadership in academics, community service, and extracurricular activities
    Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Software Engineering Summit

    August 12- August 17, 2018

    Clarendon, Virginia

    What to Expect

    During this one-week program, a small, exceptional group of freshmen and sophomores will be immersed in our startup-minded and innovative culture while exploring and developing the technology and problem-solving skills valued by today’s top employers. If chosen for this highly selective program, you’ll take part in technical and soft-skill training sessions—examples from previous Summits include iOS, Android, Voice Driven Applications, AWS, M.E.A.N. Stack, Hardware, Front End Design and more. The week wraps up with a rigorous hackathon and presentation to Capital One leadership and includes some awesome fun events along the way.

    Location

    Held at our Clarendon Lab just outside of Washington D.C., the Summit is an awesome opportunity to network with Capital One engineers and other students from top colleges and universities. Capital One will be responsible for all participant travel and accommodations—your job is to learn, challenge yourself, and code side-by-side with our talented engineers!

    Preferred Qualifications

    Current undergraduate freshman or sophomore 3.0 GPA or higher
    Technical and/or quantitative major, including Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, etc.
    Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, conceptual skills and coding ability
    Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills

Discover how HR professionals create a startup-minded, innovative culture and provide valuable partnership across many businesses. Test drive what we do on a daily basis as you hear from HR Leaders and shadow HR Rotation Program Associates. And throughout the program, experience firsthand how we’re disrupting the banking industry.

    Capital One will be responsible for all participant travel and accommodations—your job is to come, learn, and challenge yourself in this exciting corporate setting!

    • Hear from dynamic HR and Business Leaders on how talent is valued across our organization

    What to Expect

    Capital One’s Women in Business Summit is a unique and immersive opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look into what a career in Commercial Banking means.

    At the Summit, you will:

    • Listen to recent grads discuss their experiences, all with an eye on preparing you to navigate this dynamic industry
    • Attend a panel discussion with female leaders and senior executives who will discuss their experiences, lessons learned, and individual accounts of how those experiences shaped their careers along the way
    • Gain an understanding of potential career opportunities in Commercial Banking
    • Engage in skill-building workshops, collaborative and experiential learning sessions
    • Network with Capital One associates at all levels of the organization
    • Tour the Capital One office and New York City

    Plus, Capital One will be responsible for all participant travel and accommodations. Your job is to show up, learn, and challenge yourself in this exciting professional setting.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 3.5 GPA or higher
    • Major may include but not limited to Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Math
